Decisions
I created some new cabs or features for future work.
Now I'm having the grand problem of deciding what to do with them.
What a magnificent problem to have on this rainy, last day of the month.

Pictures taken w/ iPad. Yes, I finally figured out how to get them to the blog.

Happy Glassing
October.
How did that happen?
I had the opportunity to work all morning on glass. It feels luxurious. I finished cleaning some cabs and completely loaded the large kiln with blanks for slumping. My husband took my camera when he went hunting today, so no pictures because I can't figure out how to get the pictures off this iPad and into a blog post.
Darn.
Cleaning the yard and garden this afternoon.
It is always good to have a day off in the middle of the week. Today has been sanity restoring.

Tonight (three weeks later)
Okay, so this post is a bit later than I thought it might be three weeks ago.
darn
A quick update:
The Day Lilies have finished blooming for the year.
(I'm not sure where the small frogs are taking their meals these days;-)
A very short vacation with a bit of wine tasting.
I have successfully used my big kiln.
(success is a good thing)
Small, dotted dish.
A slump gone wonky.
It might be salvaged if used as a ring holder.
??
Full steam into September . . .
Cooler nights.
Kids moved to college = quieter house.
New glass in the kiln.

bad with the good
Okay - the new kiln and the old kiln proved to be challenging recently.
I fused blanks in each of them and experienced huge bubbles. Double yuck and ruined glass.
I am not sure if the bubble problem was my schedule - which I changed, or the fact that I moved my old kiln when the new kiln arrived and I may need to do some better leveling.
Discouraging.
My next fire in the new big kiln was just a recycled glass blank for a bowl slump. It turned out fine. I'll post pics after the slump tonight.
My small kiln did a great job with a new glass quilt.
It always amazes me how the glass colors change depending on how a piece is lit. I wanted to see if glass quilts are too heavy to hang in a window. I drilled holes and threaded a ribbon for hanging. I really like to see the depth of glass and hanging a piece in a window with bright sunlight shining through it is a great way to show off a piece. (I will try it in a carpeted room in case it falls.)
