New toy

A diamond drill bit for my dremel; using it I can make holes in glass.

 ;-)

I have had this piece for a while with no good way to display it.
Now it can hang in a window.

This tack fused glass was made in the event
that I ever create a display at a show.

This is a new piece, but a poor picture.
I have it hanging in my window and will try to get a better picture in the sunlight tomorrow.

I really like the wispy quality of the flower and I have some glass similar to this in the kiln tonight.

Copper mesh inclusion

A bit of copper mesh inclusion.
I like that there wasn't too much trapped air around the inclusions.

I think next time - I will try to have more of a pattern to the inclusions. This seems too random, but I like the glass color w/ the copper mesh.

Halloween is around the corner -

Red/Orange Bowl

This bowl was made w/ striker glass. Striker glass starts out one color and changes color as it is heated in the kiln. This glass was a yellowish color prior to being heated.

The final color is more of a reddish orange.

Not exactly the Halloween color I was looking for, but I like it.

new work

A new dish.
The glass color is a transparent brown with opague black dots.
The transparent color becomes powerful after it is fired, but before it's fired the the color is weak and not spectacular.

Hope your week is all you want it to be.

mesh melt

My first mesh melt - I'm so excited.
I have another one cooling in the kiln right now
with hopes that it will be as pretty.

Yea!

This was our sunset a few nights ago.
It would be so great to recreate these colors.

Happy Wednesday!
